Boris....
... is the subject of an early blip, discovered in the bathroom by #1 daughter. I was alerted by the anguished cries from within, raced to see what was the matter, and #2D pointed to a creature as wide as my hand. "Do something!" she screamed, so quick as a flash I grabbed a camera.... I was quite happy to get up close and personal, but the critter was pretty fast and was in danger of running up my arm, so I persuaded #2 son to cover him with a glass - only a pint glass was big enough. Here's a spidery song from way back.
Disclaimer: no spiders were harmed in the making of this blip - he was released into the garden and is probably right now trying to muscle open the cat flap to get back in....
Look, he's crawling up my wall
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
He's come to a sticky end
Don't think he will ever mend
Never more will he crawl 'round
He's embedded in the ground
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
