Taking flight
There was no question in Adam's mind: he knew he would fly.
He'd always been able to fly, he realised with the easy flow of dream-logic. It was just that, in his day-to-day life, he'd forgotten. "How very foolish of me," he thought easily to himself, imagining all the missed flying opportunities in his life.
With just a lazy movement he was able to soar like one of the seagulls that wheeled around him, though they were silent now.
He headed back in towards the land, and wasn't surprised to see the scene below had now changed. He was looking down on houses - houses that, in the way of dreams, were both achingly familiar and entirely strange.
The experience was different from flying over somewhere in a plane, however.
Adam realised - again, without any surprise - that he could somehow see into the houses and look down on what the people inside them were doing.
