Foot Fetishers' Guide to the Fringe Festival

This toe triptych shows a selection of the (frankly odd) footwear on display on the Royal Mile today.

Once I'd decided on a wet weather blip it didn't take me long to find someone wearing funky wellies (one of the Five Clever Courtesans) and then the brave barefoot pirate (from Silent Cannonfire) and finally the scarlet high heels (one of the cast of Dr Faustus).

I think you can tell a lot from a fringe show from the choice of footwear of the performers/flyerers. To be honest its as good a way of picking which shows to go to as any other ... although given the weather only the wellies got it right.
