Flower Power

Anyone who regularly travels to the Lake District on the road from Skipton, will have watched this summer display develop over several years. We call it the flower house and we get ready for a quick glimpse of it as we pass by on the fast and busy road. It always makes us smile, particularly on a miserable day like today.

I don't know anything about the owners but there are always Yorkshire and Swiss flags flying (the locals in Coniston Cold call it the Swiss House), so I guess they are proud to be in Yorkshire but perhaps a little homesick for the flower verandahs of the Swiss Alps.
