Oxford Gargoyles

I was in Edinburgh this morning and had half an hour to spare. At this time of year the normal course of action is to head up the Royal Mile and take lots of pictures of the Fringe performers and street theatre. However today the weather was horribly wet.

I did however go anyway, even though I got soaked in the short time I was there. Managed to get a few pictures. I had this idea to get one performer from this group of singers with the out of focus Saltire in the background. Intended to look like she would be singing Flower of Scotland or something like that. In reality they were singing a rather nice version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow (a bit ironic in view of the weather).

The picture proved a bit difficult to get as the flag is soaked and heavy and there wasn't much of a wind. Therefore it only flew into position a couple of times and for only seconds.

The group are called Oxford Gargoyles - Winners of the Voice Festival UK 2010. They perform jazz, soul, pop and blues with infectious energy. Would be worth going along to see them at Venue 34 in Chambers Street.
