Time to Harvest

I can report that the potatoes from Friday's blip are now sporting withered foiliage. The pesky farmer is using chemicals to suit his own ends.

A bright but very breezy day here. Spent the day mostly indoors cooking and doing the demon window cleaning. That's the downside of having spent yesterday in the garden!

I can also report that him indoors is once again in fine fettle - knew it was just a "man" thing

I am not sure if I have blipped the quarry before. I know I have taken way so many pictures of it but its one of those huge things, towering as it does behind the village, that its hard to do it justice...or even get a decent shot.

So here we have the quarry where substantial amounts of orange/pink felsite are extraced on a daily basis (that the stuff you use for driveway chippings) Down below the quarry the work of harvesting begins with the wheat being cut and baled. Once that is done a new pathway for walking opens up and there is a direct path to the top of lucklawhill which is steep but worthwhile :)

Time for a wine I think, its only a few short hours till the working week dawns once again :(
