Not fade away
I was looking through some old family photo albums today. A lot of the images were blurred, with squint horizons and heads cut off. Even so, these images - thirty, forty years old - exist as a permanent record.
All these endless digital photographs that we take - do they have any future? Once they've popped up on screen, will anyone, even the photographer, ever give them a second glance?
They'll end up buried in hard drives or out in the ether on some server or other.
If technology changes, as it most definitely will, will we even be able to retrieve them in ten years' time? It all feels so ephemeral.
