Alloa Swing Bridge

Out for an evening walk to Alloa Swing Bridge, unfortunately I was caught in the rain. Still, at least the rain clouds gave a nice dramatic sky for the shot.

The bridge was built in 1885 and was sometimes referred to as 'the other Forth Railway bridge' (although not so now as very few people seem to realise it exists). It was used for trains up until 1968 and has been abandoned since. Judging by its massive construction I guess it will be here for some time to come.
