Norfolk enchants

The north Norfolk coast west of Salthouse is one of the loveliest places I know of. The summer after my dad died (1975) my mum brought my brother and sis and I camping at Old Brick Kilns in Little Barney. It was my last school summer holidays before starting an engineering apprenticeship in Leicester so we stayed for about five weeks until we so much ran out of money that we were pinching potatoes from the farmers' fields.
Today we went for a walk from Burnham Overy Staithe by the marshes to the call of the oystercatchers and terns, then over the dunes to a big empty beach with blue skies and a heavy storm brewing somewhere in the distance over Lincolnshire.
