Training

Ever since I was a teenager I've been in training to be a little old lady. I am, for example, a connoisseur of teashops.

Today was old lady heaven at a local flower and produce show. I seldom bake and never make jams or chutneys - but I'm so glad that other people do. This annual event is a ritual harbinger of autumn and I've stocked up with all the preserves needed to see the winter through. And all in aid of a good cause - a total of 777 men have lost their lives over the years as Lifeboatmen. Somehow that seems connected to the sheer good-heartedness of RNLI events.
