Billy Goat

Last gasp of summer

We've been at the Governor's mother's for a couple of days, she is definitely on the mend although by no means as robust as she was. She is getting there though and finding me jobs to do, rewire a light in the kitchen, mend the iron flex, replace some rotten wood in the back door and paint it, then finally plant up a couple of tubs. Although this was the Governor's idea otherwise we feared the pansies would snuff it before they were planted. Just finished and the Governor thrust the camera into my hand and said "Go and Blip".
Inspiration never comes to order and so I offer this rather lovely scabious that is destined to get a nasty shock tonight as the temperature approaches zero, it is already 3 deg C at home and they promise worse to come.
Many other portents of a tough winter, lots of catkins, lots of berries on the holly and other plants, all of which the Governor says are simply a result of a good growing season!
Off to Norfolk tomorrow in the Bago so Blips on hold again - and thermal undies to the fore.
