A bowl full of sunshine!
These are just what we have left of this weeks pickings. This year's tomatoes have certainly fulfilled their promise
They are larger than the cherry ones we have grown previously and they have been the best we've had for flavour. This week Chris ( who says I have to say is also a ray of sunshine!) has made green tomato chutney here taken a bag full of green tomatoes to his friend so he can do the same.
We have had wonderful tomato salad in the evening and for lunch with spring onions, basil and balsamic dressing (makes me drool thinking about it).
We've had chicken cooked in tomatoes, aubergine and basil and last night, to accompany salmon, we had tomato and ricotta bake which we finished off this lunchtime.
Actually he is a treasure as well as a ray of sunshine (some days) he has grown them and made all the dishes except the tomato salad which is my domain.
My son Alex just likes plain tomatoes and he's enjoyed them too!
Lot's more to come and with this weather we need to find our sunshine wherever we can!
