High and dry

Here's the chimney of unit EC 20.
The fluegas measurement equipment has been replaced by more sophisticated ones.
So the old stuff had to be removed.
Inside the concrete chimney is a inner steel pipe with a staircase around it.
Maintenance at the equipment had to be done at an altitude of 50 meters, and that was not such a problem but we discovered sometimes particles of carbonmonoxide (CO) and NOX (nitrogen (di)oxide) might occur at the outside of the pipe (how that could happen is a rather difficult story but the pipe itself is not leaking).
So maintenance was not allowed while the unit was in service.

Time to choose other measurement.
Here a special crane is waiting until the equipment has been put onto the platform of the crane (through a window in the chimney).
