I was quite worried that I might not get a Blip opportunity yesterday, having been stuck in a hotel at meetings all day, however, on my way home in the evening, I noticed that the scaffolding had been removed on The Savoy, so I Blipped it.
It's not quite finished yet, but it is so rare that there's not a car parked in front of it's doorway, I thought I'd better get to it!
The Savoy was built as a hotel in 1932 and for many years was a mecca for holiday-makers and as it had a ballroom, was also a major nightspot here in Bangor. It was converted to sheltered accommodation back in the 70s/80s and is a listed building.
I could have taken the picture face-on but it's the rounded edges of the building that gives it it's Art Deco appeal, for me anyway.
