The View From Work

I'm still working on a good submission for Assignment17. During my down time at work I read all 20 pages of my camera instruction booklet. Also someone at work told me about a free photo editing program called Picasa from Google. I'm on my way now. Any other ideas for the beginner? I'm wide open for suggestions.
