Hungry Hawk
Today my sister and I took the kids to a cute little park in Old Saybrook.
We went there hoping to catch some nice butterfly shots, they have many butterfly bushes there and my sister has had lots of luck getting some great shots.
We did find some nice butterflies (although some a little tattered looking), and also saw some great sailboats going by. But what really caught our eye was a huge red-tailed hawk that landed in a tree right next to us. This tree didn't have any leaves for some reason (although it worked well for us to get a decent shot!).
This hawk just stared at us for a while (maybe thinking we might make some good lunch?). Then it flew off to another tree before taking off towards the marsh.
