Marbled Godwit
I have not posted in the last few days since I have been working on my pictures from my St. Paul Island Alaska trip. However, there have been reports of an increase in shore bird migration at a local state Park that is on a beach. Most noteworthy has been the presence of a marble godwit. So early this morning my friend Doug and I went to Horseneck Beach is observed by shore bird migration. There were many species present, including whimbrils, sandelings and especially the marble godwit. By moving very slowly, I was able to approach to within 15 feet of the marble godwit.
