train or bike?

One of the victims of Dr Beeching's infamous cuts in the mid 60s, the Deeside Railway line was converted into this great tree lined country walk covering the 7 or 8 miles from Aberdeen to Peterculter. This is a view of what was Peterculter station - the platform and original sign are still there.
Being the last day of freedom before school returns tomorrow, I took the boy for a walk here, and down to the river Dee. We walked, we looked at nature, we found two geocaches, and talked a lot, mostly about videogames. It was grey, then bright sunshine, then it pelted down stair-rods. And it was all great.
