Happy Birthday Grandpa

It was Grandpa's birthday today...78 years young!

We decided to take him out for the day. Last year we headed through to the festival parade in Edinburgh. It's quite a long day that and with our new arrivals didn't want to be away all day so we decided on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Steam Railway.

Little did we know when we left that it was a Thomas day and that Thomas and James were there! Much excitement when we arrived and saw them waiting at the platform.

It was a good day out...we had a trip on the old train, although it wasn't been pulled by steam as the steam engine had broken down in the morning and some folk were trapped on the train for over an hour...glad it wasn't us with my four! The carriages were suitably retro though.

We also had a look in the footplate of Thomas...and Buncle pulled the whistle...Rooster wasn't all that keen on Thomas and James for some reason...

There were fairground roundabouts and a bouncy slide that the boys amused themselves on. We popped into see the model railway and on the way out caught the Punch and Judy show. So loads to do.

The sun was shining so decided on the way home to roll the barbecue out and after the barbecue chocolate birthday cake and strawberries...yum!
