The Dentist

Would you believe it I have been at the Dentist's for 5 hours.
He did tell me that it would be a long session. I had to have a new crown, and I was going to have a root canal, but decided at the last moment that I did not need the root canal.

Last time I had crowns made it was with gold, and numerous appointments and moulds taken.
This method is called Cerec.
An optical 3D image is acquired with a small camera directly into the mouth.
The restoration is created on the screen using the image data.
Diamond coated instruments mill a ceramic block to reproduce the design, the crown is made and bonded into the mouth.

I am now resting up after the ordeal.
