Pax-man!

Previous visitors may have seen mention of my recent visits to that Swedish oasis of fabulous furniture design, Ikea.

Well, I was back there yesterday and ordered a whole load of stuff. Some for the newly completed garage conversion and some for the elder lad. All of it delivered 'next day' as promised.

So tonight was spent assembling some Pax wardrobes. Jeez those are heavy old packages, but seem even heavier units once you get them built.

I've still to sort out the myriad of innards and hang the doors tomorrow, but the main frames are done and dusted.

There's always something new to amaz me when I get stuff from Ikea. Some wee design-ey thing that makes you think, "now that's clever". Sad, eh?

Well this time it was the cool wee nail assister thing. You can see it in the pic, as Pax-man's nose. Although it's got a couple of screw covers on it for good measure.

It not only holds the nail, so's you don't bash your thumb when hammering it in, it also spaces it perfectly from the edge of the unit to nail the hardboard back to the frame. Genius, now that's clever.
