The rabbit catcher has arrived!
This is the first year since beginning our vegetable garden that we have not had at least one cat in residence. At one time there were four great cats working hard to keep our rodent population to a minimum. Latterly, without the regular cat-patrol, the rabbits had begun to move closer and closer to where the tasty juicy pea pods and lettuce grow. One morning last month Bill was disappointed to discover that most of our young runner beans plants had been decapitated and all they left behind were piles of tell-tale rabbit poo.
So, when one of our daughters said that their 4 month old kitten was biting and scratching the grandchildren, and that no one would miss the wee minx.......guess what?we are now the proud owners of Jo-Jo!
She adores the outdoor space that is available to her 24/7 and has all but exhausted herself running about exploring her new home. She has exchanged an Edinburgh flat for Perthshire hills. She spent last night outside in the log shed. Megan our dog thinks she has a new friend to play with and they appear to be getting on fine.
She will have to take her chance with the railway line nearby but she seems canny enough and hides for cover whenever she hears a train coming!
Welcome Jo-Jo!
