Le Pays
Another beautiful day in La Fage - so far we have NOT had hot weather - it has been in the 60 and 70's for the most part. Monday is market day in Mirapoix and neighbor John, originally from England, had asked if we wanted to go with him. We thought he would be a great guide and agreed, providing I could leave awhile ahead walking. I had a lovely time on this narrow road, snapping photos of the land, horses, sheep and so on. This shot is one looking back to La Fage about 5 or 6 K, so it is quite small and out of sight but for the keenest vision. The land is like this in every direction - open, high pastures, many colors of small fields and unsullied by development. John tells us that the French government pays farmers to keep land in some level of production so as to retain the rural look of the France of older times. There is surely is controversy regarding such policies, but it certainly appeals to the eye!
