Felton Hotel
This is a mural taken in Felton California in the San Lorenzo Valley. We live 6 miles up the valley from this spot in Boulder Creek.
The valley was heavily logged in the 1800's, stripping all of the old growth Redwood trees. The Redwoods have grown back along with a variety of Pines and California Live Oaks and Valley Oaks. Located near Silicon Valley, this area has become a residential suburb of sorts for the folks working there - including yours truly ;-)
Many of the original buildings remain in the little towns along the San Lorenzo River (after which the valley is named) - having been settled by Scotts, they carry names like Ben Lomond, Bonny Doon, and Scotts Valley.
