Edinburgh Botanics

We had a lovely afternoon in the Botanics. The children ran from here to there playing hide and seek, whilst Fran and I wandered from plant to plant nattering about this and that. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the gardens were full of people in their little pockets of solitude enjoying the warmth. We decided to have a barbeque in the evening and the two younger girls baked a cake in honour of their impending birthdays, complete with pink icing, hundreds and thousands, chocolate stars and smarties. It looked rather splendid! Fran and the children begin their journey home tomorrow and I will miss them.
