Ganesh-ji!

A good friend of mine suggested that I give my son a necklace for when he goes to school. It will be there to remind him of our family and that he is always safe. While in Fiji, I purchased a small pendant for him. While visiting my mom yesterday, I grabbed one of her little chains (she owns a jewelry/rock store).

When my son got up this morning, I gave him the necklace and told him to keep it safe. He was so excited that he could hardly wait for me to take his photo. He was also so excited that I only managed this one as he then ran off for the other part of the house to show his little bhaiya (brother).

The pendant is of the God head Ganesha. Ganesh is important in our home. He was a large part of our wedding and the birth of our children. I've blipped him before.

On another note, my 50mm f/1.8 is officially busted. I took photos of the baby yesterday with the most patience I could manage. I know too well what stress does to babies, so I managed to keep my cool as my lens continued to jerk and stick instead of focus. I did find that I'm within my warranty, so it will be fixed for free. Yippee! I will have to live without it for a few weeks though, and that will be something I'm not sure I can manage. :O

The details of the necklace are a bit blurred but can be seen better in large.
