Harbour Island Lights
You may have thought that today's blip would have captured something quintessentially Tampa. I guess all those days tramping the streets of Riverside, Jacksonville, have got me to the point where I am drawn to the minutae of the urban milieu.
Having consumed the required three cups of coffee after breakfast at the Westin Harbour Island Hotel, and the obligatory two cigarettes to get the creative juices to flow, I ventured out. I took a few shots of the Tampa skyline but in the end settled on this photograph of the lamps in the grounds of the hotel.
It may be mundane, possibly even boring, but it is me! You know this fact only too well.
In a land where harbour is spelled "harbor", it struck me as something of an affectation for this island to be called Harbour Island. But then Tampa does have districts named Soho and Hyde Park, also areas of London. So it would appear the English still have some influence. :-)
