Family friendly

...or not.

Met up with a friend at the Colinton Dells and let the kids have a play at the park. Afterwards we were a bit thirsty and the kids hungry so we decided to look for a tearoom. Tough luck, the only tearoom in sight was just about to close so we had to go to the pub which - luckily for us - advertised its family-friendlieness. Well, I don't know but when we got in we got an immediate "families are downstairs" so downstairs we went, to the function room which in itself was a good idea since it kept the kids out of anybody else's way, however there was no light and it took another 10 minutes for that to be turned on by the landlady who - to be fair - seemed to be working on her own, serving the bar, the function room AND the beergarden.

Anyway, fun was had, it was great to catch up with N after the holidays and to get an easy chat with a great friend. Now I can't wait to see her again without kids and maybe we'll be able to go to the cinema? If not another good chat is what I'm already looking forward to.
