undiscovered countries

A couple of new books in areas which I've been meaning to explore, on a very basic level. I've been fascinated by the story of 'The Turn of the Screw' for years, just through the medium of the Benjamin Britten's haunting and disquieting opera, and the greatest of all ghost films, 'The Innocents', a film which I hadn't seen for years until recently but images from which had remained in my brain from the first tiem I saw it. But I'd never read the Henry James story, so I thought I'd splash out on the book.

The other book is an anthology of various writings centred around existentialism, which is a concept which has always sounded interesting but which I've never fully understood the meaning of.
