Town criers competition.
This afternoon it was the junior town criers competition and Erin wanted to have a go so we went down with some friends. Once there though we found out it was for 5 to 16 year olds, but they very kindly said she could have a little go. Well they did more than that, after Phil the local (competition winnning) town crier explained to everyone what the children had to do he said that he had a special helper to show how it is done and introduced Erin. Up she went so confidently and stood beside him. All this was on the seafront and there were lots of people there and she wasn't fazed at all. She rang the bell as shown but when asked if she wanted to say a nursery rhyme she decided against it but found Phil very funny when he sang twinkle twinkle to her. So proud of her. I love the confidence she has and I hope she keeps it, I was a painfully shy child and missed out on things like this so it is lovely to see she doesn't follow me. Jack is slightly shyer and didn't want to have a go but he is nowhere near as bad as I was.
We are all in the carnival tomorrow night which myself and the children are looking forward to and Darren is dreading!!!
