Clean Bathroom
Today has been a busy housework day. I've finally finished the whole of the upstairs (with the exception of a bit of sorting of maths books etc. in my study - but that comes under book-sorting rather than cleaning) including the bathroom, which has been overdue for a really good clean for far too long! Please excuse the novelty loo seat; I'm rather obsessed with them - we have blue sparkles in the ensuite and dolphins in the downstairs loo!
I've been spurred into action on the housework front by three things:
1. My Mum is arriving tomorrow to stay for the weekend, so I needed to make sure there was somewhere for her to sleep and somewhere reasonably clean for her to wash!
2. The new bed will arrive in a few weeks time and I need to have space to put it when it does!
3. We are going to collect Smudge next Tuesday and she will need somewhere to live that is her own territory and not completely smelling of other cats while she settles in and before formal introduction processes begin.
Hoovering the stairs was particularly poignant today. Athena loved to sit on the stairs, both snuggled up with her back to the vertical bits, lying in wait to trip us up, and looking through the banister uprights keeping an eye on "her" house. I hoovered up many white hairs today, and dusted corners that she'd rubbed and left more white hairs on.
Bless her. She was so lovely.
