Another gravestone

Strolled into the St. Nicholas Kirk graveyard at dinner time with intention of taking a shot of Archibald Simpson's grave - only to find it was half in shadow - turning round to find another subject I noticed the memorial to Elizabeth Duthie, shown here.

Mrs. Duthie gifted the public park that now bears her name to the City of Aberdeen.

The last line on the gravestone sums it up nicely :

"Her best and most enduring memorial is the park she gave to her fellow citizens"

Duthie Park is great, especially the Winter Gardens which are truly amazing. It's all free and if you are visiting Aberdeen, its well worth a look.
