Sliced Tomatoes

I'm a bit of a tomato freak. They are my favorite vegetable--at least in mid to late summer (like now), when they're at their peak. These were relatively small ones (two of them), from a roadside stand near us, not anything special, but it occurred to me that they could make a nice blip. They're sitting on the seat of one of our dining chairs.

I enjoy shooting food, usually in this direct manner. My favorite so far is here, on Blipfolio, which I've just begun. The bright red background there (a place mat) makes an amusing contrast with the red tomatoes in the foreground of this image. (The Blipfolio image is from Paris, in December 2007.)
