Corregidor Island

We flew back home and I always like taking the late afternoon flights so I get to see the sunset while onboard.
This was taken just after take-off and the island on the left background is Corregidor. This was were Gen. Douglas MacArthur made his last stand during the start of WWII in the Pacific. Joint Filipino and American forces built underground tunnels to defend the island, which is strategically located at the mouth of Manila Bay.

Thank you for all the warm 100th greetings you have sent my way. It is much appreciated.
