Rakhi

Raksha Bandhan (the bond of protection) is a Hindu festival, which celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters.

The festival is marked by the tying of a Rakhi (holy thread) by the sister on the wrist of her brother. The brother in return offers a gift to his sister and vows to look after her. The brother and sister traditionally feed one another sweets.

This one is sent by my sister. It's not Rakhi festival today. Also we have never been on the same city during this festival anytime but she makes sure I get it well in advance every year no matter which part of the world I'm in. We are not "blood brothers and sisters" but have been more than that. I never feel I'm not talking to my elder sister when I discuss things with her and she supports / suggests me same as her own younger brother.

I don't have any "blood sister" who can tie this on my wrist so All the Rakhi she has been sending so far each year are safely kept in an envelop. I've got many in that envelop by now.. May be at least once I'd meet her during Rakhi festival & get all of them tied together by herself.

THE SWEETS ARE YUMMY...

If you are interested to know more about this festival.. Here it is.
