Thistle Down

Funny Things

Funny, funny things,
Let them happen now.
Like seeing flying saucers,
Or meeting a purple cow.

Let some fairy-castle,
Where gimlets often sail.
Be alive with dancing sprites,
Around a comet's tail.

Out there among the stillness,
Where pranksters often clown.
Let them see which mountain peeks,
And ride a banister down.

Perhaps a winding stairway,
Stretching out through space.
Where clouds hang far away,
Like rare, imported lace.

Whatever comes...let come,
The humor that it brings.
Will make the spice of life,
With funny, funny things.
