Casa Batllo

First Gaudi shot (sorry can't work out how to do accents on this machine/system), taken in the roof space of Casa Batllo, Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona. The original apartment block was finished around 1875 but Gaudi was given the opportunity to reform the facade and interior in a renovation that lasted from 1904-06. Evey detail has his stamp, and this was one of many that I liked. If you ever come to Barcelona, it's well worth looking around inside (although the entrance fee is very steep at nearly 18 Euros). They play music softly and everyone is silent with their audio phones pinned to their ear....really quite bizarre!
