Guggenheim Bilbao

I must have taken dozens of pictures of this iconic building (weren't allowed to take them inside) but I think this one taken at the onset of evening is my favourite.

It shows the river side of the building which is actually the back, and the warm colour of the titanium covering, which together with limestone and glass makes up the exterior. The reflective water and the ball sculpture by Anish Kapur capture the subtle lighting of the building at night.

It was well worth a visit. Not all the exhibits were to my taste but the whole experience was fascinating, especially the steel sculptures of massive proportions that you were able to walk through.

It has certainly made an impact on this city for the good and the whole riverside area is now 'on the up'!
