A good year for apples?
Not sure whether all of these will actually stay on the tree; we've had a lot of windfalls this year which the wasps have enjoyed immensely. Luckily, they're so drunk that you can pick up the windfalls (with gloves on, of course) with no risk really of being stung.
Anyway, these are beginning to ripen nicely. They ripen to yellow with an occasional red streak. They're delicious eating apples. Unfortunately they don't store/keep so they get shared around quite quickly, frozen as filling for pie, or made into apple crumbles. They're called James Grieve.
