Lock Gate

This was my first time through a lock as I'm one of the designated "lock monkeys" who's job it is to leap off the boat and do the necessary raising/lowering of paddles and heaving of gates (these particular gates weighed 1630Kg each!)
For this lock though, I'd accidentally ended up stuck on the boat which meant that Lock Monkey #1 had to fly solo but it did also mean that I got to take lots of photos from inside the lock and marvel at the engineering ingenuity and skill of the people who built them.
It was a tough decision as to which to blip, but I liked the angle of these gates as they started to close, against the sky.
