When all is said and done...

....this hollyhock back lit by the setting sun was the most beautiful thing I saw all day. When I saw this, all of a sudden everything felt alright with the world.

In other news, I got a circular polarizing filter today and took many pictures of the glare off car windshields and water in a fountain. I liked the water pictures a lot but the texture of the water didn't make me as happy as the colour of this flower.

Why should I feel faintly apologetic about a flower picture? Aren't flowers designed to be beautiful?

I stopped reading the news a few months ago because the news was always so bad and there is nothing I can do to change things day to day. But I couldn't help seeing the headlines about the people in Moscow and Asia...,my heart goes out to those poor people.
