Common Darter

I love Common Darters. They seem friendly and confiding - unless you're a mosquito or other small flying insect. It's usually possible to get pretty close to them. This one was at the edge of the garden pond, perching on a branch I put there for that very purpose.

The background colours are from waterlily leaves in various stages of decomposition.
