walking in the city

Lansdowne Avenue, just south of Bloor Street

I took another trip to the west end today to escape the 'Taste of the Danforth' Greek food blowout. To a marauding crowd hungry for Souvlaki, it's a dream; to locals it's clouds of burning animal fat for six blocks in every direction.

The dude who owns the barber shop around the corner has been jamming with his buddies all weekend on a little impromptu sound stage they've set up on the sidewalk. They're covering jazz and reggae classics. No apparent reason except they're a block up from the festival. I stood in the doorway of the laundromat yesterday afternoon and watched and listened. They're pretty good.

Ps. I am so truant these days. I apologize. I think I've missed some special blip days and I miss my friends.
