Humble Beginnings!

My dad let me use his Brownie camera when I was 8 years old. We went to the San Diego Zoo. I set up some shots in front of our house, a shot of my brother in by a dog named Mickey at my Aunt & Uncle's house and a picture of the zoo bus. The only shot that came out clear was the one of the bus, but I was hooked.

I also started keeping a journal when I was 12 and was pretty religious about it until a couple years after we got married. I let it go.

I took Photo Class all through high school. I met my hubby in class my Junior year. He tells everyone we met in the darkroom...he is such the dreamer. ;]

I lost interest in photog and journaling for years. I was busy with kids, work, life...then I pick-up up the camera again and, well, I was hooked again. I found blip and thought, well, why not...I had a rush of excitement when I signed up, my first shot was a dud, but I had my foot in the door and was ready for the challenge.

Today, I almost don't go anywhere without my camera. I always have my little red friend (point & shoot) in my purse, just in case. I love it...some days I have so many shots, I just don't know which one to use...it usually depends on my mood and how it fits with my feelings, very minimal journalism, but you can get the picture most of the time.

Re: The life changing event mentioned Friday...was announced this morning at church. Our youth pastor is resigning. We have been involved with youth for years...our friends have been youth leaders for 9 of those years. We have been through a lot. We have walked life together and T & L have been our pastors, when we have had no pastors, two different times. It is heart breaking and exciting, life changing, because who knows what God has for them, for us, for the church. But God is good, He knows and we trust him! Tears of joy and sadness and uncertainty, but one thing for sure...we have wonderful memories for times in ministry together. Great times...Real life!!! Blessings to T & L... we love you and your family...we are excited to see what is next for you!!!
