Fixing the kit lens.....

Lens repair isn't that difficult. It's all about using the right tools for the job.....

Here you can see I'm sorting out my kit lens which had stopped working a while ago. No big deal as I don't use it but I don't like things not working so......

Disassembly was fairly quick and straight-forward using my pro lens opening tool (see pic).

Fault found.... a broken trace on the flexible connector going to the lens contacts.

Fault fixed.... wire wool, dettol and some pro lens paste.

Happy days. Now I can put it back in the drawer and get back to what I SHOULD have been doing.
