Summer Fireworks - Iwakuni
Dr Dad and the Weechan went off to the countryside today to tend the family graves, as is tradition at this time of year in these parts. As Fi is here for the month, I was let off the hook, so I thought I'd try and find a fireworks festival to take Fi to. Fireworks are very much the summer thing here in Japan, and as luck would have it, last night was the big display at Kintaikyo Bridge in Iwakuni, not far from here.
it was a last minute decision to go by public transport, which was good, as it meant there could be cold beers on arrival, but also not so good, as it took us until 12:30am to get home, after the event finished at 9:30pm.
Much crap food was consumed, but it was truly a lovely setting for the fireworks, and a nice way to spend Fi's last Saturday night in Japan.
