Saturday out
Picked SM up from the airport. He's on the verge of bidding India adeiu.
Our lunch - no, it was a meal between lunch and dinner (dunch/linner? They should have a name for it) - was delicious. Perhaps the best meal we've had out in Delhi in these past few months. Glad we didn't settle for Hard Rock Cafe and decided to explore. The place was called the Chi Kitchen and Bar. Neat informal decor and absolutely delicious food. A treat to the senses, though quantities could have been more generous.
I just felt starved for outdoor photography and though around malls I'd generally keep my camera in, I decided to take a few shots as the sun set. Followed it up with some ice-cream before heading off to a pub called The Living Room. It was informal with non-uniform decor, grandfather clocks, rotating fans, old cupboards, interesting photographs, rustic paraphernalia and a band playing decent rock. A good crowd and a warm relaxed atmosphere. We had a hard time locating it, tucked away as it was, in a corner with no large signs announcing it's presence; very unlike Delhi. In the end it was a narrow, silent candle-lit staircase that led all the way up to a glass door which opened to the sound of distortion and hushed voices. Worth a revisit.
