Alien ship in the backyard?

Saw this mushroom starting to grow in the backyard a few days ago (right after I had cut the grass). I was going to blip it yesterday but, the rain made other plans for me. It is a curious thing. Knowing little about mushrooms, I wouldn't attempt to determine eat-ability.
