Snail

I was a little surprised to find a snail attached to the back of the car this evening. It managed to hang on all the way home through a busy Friday rush hour (including a 130km/h barrel down the motorway between Utrecht and Amsterdam). It managed to hold on while I drove across the speedbumps into the estate, and it managed to hold on as I screeched to a halt to avoid a child coming out of the lanes behind the houses.

And it might well have hung on for more of the same tommorrow, if only I hadn't crushed it by accident when I closed the boot to get the shopping out this evening.
