Eden

Eden? Amazon? Nope .... Ireland! Looking unbelievably lush, this is a quick glimpse into the gardens of the big house round here. Brought a few years ago by Graham Norton, he has done a great job renovating the house (unlived in for many years) but has left the gardens pretty wild - rightly so! The gardens must have once been amazing for there are many rare, specimen trees including fabulous palms, acacias, huge rhododendrons, enormous beeches etc. On the other side of this jungle are lawns sweeping down to sea. It's a pretty wonderful location and a bit of an oasis in an area where there aren't that many trees.

Catching up with useful stuff today. Attempted to go into Bantry but it was fair day and the traffic stretched for miles in every direction so I came home. I came home along the bog road - very scenic -and was rewarded with the sight of an enormous hare hurtling towards me. I stopped the car, leapt out and attempted to take a photo (good blipper, camera always ready) but he was too quick for me and went bounding off down the boreen. A little further up I discovered why he was running - two bad dogs, but I think he got away.
